For affluent and healthy life for all people in the whole world, energy production, environment conservation and other related subjects have been studied.

I. Global carbon dioxide recycling

Global carbon dioxide recycling consists of power generation by solar cell in the deserts, hydrogen production by seawater electrolysis and methane production by the reaction of carbon dioxide with hydrogen at the nearby desert coasts, and methane combustion and carbon dioxide recovery at the energy consuming districts.  The elemental systems which have not yet been industrialized are seawater electrolysis and carbon dioxide methanation.  Their key materials and systems have been studied.

Key Words : (Renewable Energy, Carbon dioxide, Energy exhaustion, Seawater electrolysis, Hydrogen production, Methane production)

1 Cathodes and Anodes for Seawater Electrolysis

1-1 Cathodes for hydrogen production

Tailoring energy-saving, durable and inexpensive cathodes containing iron and carbon as key elements using the electrodeposition method.

1-2 Anodes for oxygen evolution in seawater electrolysis

Tailoring durable anodes evolving only oxygen without chlorine evolution even in seawater electrolysis

Electrocatalysts : double and/or triple oxides consisting of manganese, molybdenum, tungsten and/or other elements

Key Words : (Anode for oxygen evolution, Cathode for hydrogen production)

2 Catalysts and systems for methanation of carbon dioxide

2-1 Catalysts for methane formation by the reaction of hydrogen and carbon dioxide

AaaCatalyst precursor: amorphous Ni-Zr-rare earth element alloys

2-2 System for mass production of methane

Key Words : ( Methanation of carbon dioxide)

II Corrosion-resistant amorphous bulk alloys

Tailoring of amorphous alloys of bulk form having extremely high corrosion resistance mostly in concentrated hydrochloric acids in which no conventional metallic materials are resistant.

Key Words : (Extremely corrosion-resistant alloy, Amorphous bulk alloy)
